Idly Upma
As everybody know, idly is one of the most preferred and safe breakfast in South India. But for people who cannot control their taste buds, a simple idly cannot be served. And it is a tough job to make my daughter eat idly. So came this idea of preparing a upma with idly. My daughter prefers this than the idly for its colour and crispiness.
Its a very simple and easy to make breakfast. People who are fed up with idlies can try this once a while. Also when idly doesnt come soft, this can be made.
Items required:
Smashed idlies
onion
green chilly
mustard seeds, channa dhal, urad dhal and oil
salt
cashews broken into small pieces and fried in ghee
Method:
Heat oil in kadai and add the seasoning items. Now add the onion and chillies and fry them well. Now add the smashed idlies and add salt and turmeric powder. Put it in low flame till the raw smell of turmeric is gone. Now switch off the flame and add cashews.
Note: Grated carrot can be added in the end to add more colour and taste.
